On May 3, 2012, we officially launched our campaign with stops in Sanford, Biddeford, Portland, Wiscasset, Waterville and then a fundraiser in Hallowell.  It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to run for Congress and spend the next six months listening to the hard working people of Maine.  I believe the real solutions for the challenges that we face come from Main Street and not Washington.

For the last ten years, I have had the privilege of serving the people of Maine as a state legislator.  During this time, I have fought and changed the culture of state government to one that brings common sense solutions to support the creation of jobs.

As Senate Majority Leader, I have worked across the aisle to pass a balanced budget, reduce our debt, and create the largest tax cut in Maine history to help spur economic growth. By working together, we have engineered reforms of our healthcare and welfare systems, and I lead the effort to reduce regulations while creating fairness among our small business community.

I have the experience as a small business owner and realize the importance small businesses like mine play in our state. Chellie Pingree claims to be a voice for small business in Washington, but her voting record has earned her a nine percent rating from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

In a recent poll, 41% had an unfavorable opinion of our Congresswoman.  It is time for a change in Washington to ensure your voice is heard and decisions are made not through party politics but by doing what is best for our country.

During my time in Augusta, I have a proven track record of putting differences aside and using common sense solutions to get the job done for the people of Maine. Now, I want to take that experience to Washington, but I need your support.
